Dr. Hanrahan has been a project manager based out of Yakima for WTFRC since the fall of 2005. Her duties include the management of all Yakima-based WTFRC operations and oversight of fruit quality improvement programs.
Ines Hanrahan grew up in East Germany and studied Horticultural engineering at Humboldt University in Berlin (Ms. Sc., 1999). During her studies in Germany and thereafter she gained invaluable practical experience in Europe, South Africa, and the USA. Following her last internship with Peters Orchards in Wapato, WA, she got accepted into the graduate program at WSU and obtained a Ph.D. in postharvest physiology from WSU in 2005.
She is married to Mark Hanrahan, a second generation tree fruit farmer in the Yakima Valley, and has one son.
