Summary: The objectives of this project were: 1) Establish individual components of the MAB Pipeline not yet in place for the PNW sweet cherry breeding program, particularly the final stages of Cost Efficiency and Trial Use, to ensure that planned MAB efforts confer costs and/or time savings to breeding, and to put theory into practice. 2) Formalize and continue the process of Prioritization, Marker Improvement, Validation, and Utility assessment of new marker-trait associations for cherry as they are discovered and reported. 3) Demonstrate the MAB Pipeline to the PNW sweet cherry producer community through outreach activities, using high impact markers for self-fertility and fruit size.
