Summary: The objectives of this project were: 1) Optimize irrigation scheduling and fertilization of sweet cherry through measuring and monitoring soil moisture and plant growth and development, and develop a predictive model for cherry fruit and shoot growth based on soil moisture and plant measurements. 2) Determine the effect of drip irrigation on fruit and shoot processes. 3) Determine the appropriate allowable depletion of soil moisture for optimizing cherry fruit quality and yields, and managing vigor.
