Summary: The objectives of this project were: 1) Determine the depth of cold hardiness within the representative quince germplasm and identify changes in hardiness throughout dormancy and early and late season non-acclimated tissue in each of three years 2) Root quince cuttings in year one and transfer to containers for de-acclimation studies in years two and three 3) Determine the tissue zone most sensitive to freeze injury 4) Determine the value of electrolyte membrane leakage chambers for high-throughput cold hardiness screening.
