Apple Horticulture/Postharvest and Apple Crop Protection
The Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission is accepting pre-proposals for new funding consideration for the 2019 Apple Horticulture/Postharvest and the Apple Crop Protection Research Reviews. The Reviews will be held at the Wenatchee Confluence Technology Center January 23-24, 2019.
NEW FORM THIS YEAR: We have updated our pre-proposal form to a fillable PDF form. All pre-proposals must be submitted using this form which is located on our site: Apple pre-proposal form and instructions. Review the instructions and complete the pre-proposal form and submit by the deadline date. All submissions will be compiled, given an anonymous identifier and distributed to the WA apple horticulture and postharvest committee and commissioners for review and ranking. (Note: pre-proposal submissions are for new proposals only. Continuing and final reports do not require pre-proposal submission.) By November 21, researchers will be notified if they are invited to present their full proposal at the Review.
The both the apple horticulture/postharvest and apple crop protection committees have updated their research priority lists and is linked below for reference. Committee members will take these lists into consideration when ranking pre-proposals.
Here are important dates to remember:
- Pre-proposals submission deadline: November 5 – 5:00pm PST
- Notification of invitation to prepare a full proposal: Nov. 21
- Deadline for submission of approved proposals plus continuing & final reports: December 20– 5:00pm PST
- PowerPoint show submission: January 18 - 5:00pm PST
