Cherry virus diagnostic survey of Oregon

Author: Jay W. Pscheidt

Published: 2017

Summary: The objectives of this project were: 1) Sample symptomatic (and healthy) cherry trees, pointed out by multiple growers, from each of the tree fruit production areas of Oregon. 2) Determine the most likely cause of these symptomatic cherry trees, virus or not. 3) Follow up the diagnosis with management recommendations to each grower. 4) Survey historical records for occurrence of cherry viruses in Oregon. 5) Summarize the survey information to report on the threat viruses may (or may not) pose to the cherry industry (and indirectly to the WA industry).
