Effectiveness of foliar calcium applications in bitter pit management

Summary: The objectives of this project were: 1) Examine the relationship between altitude (environment) and bitter pit development in Honeycrisp. 2) Evaluate the effectiveness of different frequencies of calcium applications and reduction in transpiration using ABA on bitter pit incidence. 3) Determine the optimum timing for foliar calcium applications using calcium isotope tracer application in the field.
