Summary: The objectives of this project were: 1. Improving efficiency (e.g., labor, pesticides, light use) through development of single-plane, compact orchard systems designed to incorporate mechanization and/or mechanical-assisted operations. 2. Develop pragmatic strategies for consistent and balanced cropping through understanding factors limiting fruit set and researching practical thinning strategies 3. Better understand critical fruit sensory attributes, consumers’ perceptions of fruit quality, and their willingness to pay for those attributes
