Author: G. G. Grove, C.L. Xiao, D.C. Elfving, Tom Auvil, Matt Whiting

Published: 2003

Summary: The objectives of this project were: * Determine if irrigation management can be used to delay the onset of cherry mildew epidemics and/or reduce disease severity. * Develop oil-based conventional and weather driven cherry powdery mildew management programs. * Continue evaluating various sprayer technologies and spray volumes * Investigate the influence of weather variables and current irrigation practices on disease prgoression and aerial conidia populations of conidia of the cherry fungus. * Continue field evaluations of various “soft” fungicides for efficacy against stone fruit mildews and as components of antiresistance strategies for maintaining the effectiveness of “at risk” fungicides.
