Functional genomics of ‘d’Anjou’ pear fruit quality and maturity

Author: Loren Honaas

Published: 2020

Summary: We scanned Pyrus communis ‘d’Anjou’ fruit gene activity profiles to find genes related to postharvest quality and capacity to ripen. We now have a list of candidate biomarkers for future work aimed at understanding the genetic basis of pear fruit quality traits. We will emphasize development of tools to predict future fruit quality, especially as it relates to ripening capacity.
