Importation of the honey beesubspecies that coevolved with apples

Summary: The objectives of this project were: 1)Collect, cryoperserve and import semen from a diverse selection of A.m pomonella honey bee colonies in the apple forest of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. 2) Following USDA-APHIS quarantine procedures, pomonella stocks will be recovered through backcrossing, undergo selection in Washingon conditions and distributed to California queen producers for propagation.
