Summary: The objectives for this project were: 1. Study epidemiology of fungal pathogens on storage room walls using molecular techniques for identification. Additionally determine if these fungi are pathogenic on apple and resistant to fungicides such as thiabendazole. 2. Develop a PCR assay for two new postharvest diseases (Phacidiopycnis and Sphaeropsis rot) known to occur in Washington and British Columbia.
