Orchard floor management and insecticide timing for thrips suppression in stone fruits and cherries.

Summary: The objectives of this project were: 1. Evaluate the influence of cover crops on the diversity and abundance of pest and beneficial arthropods in cherry and stone fruit orchards. 2. Evaluate the effect of chemical and mechanical treatments to the orchard floor on the spatial distribution and abundance of western flower thrips. 3. Determine the optimal timing of insecticide application for reducing thrips feeding injury to late-bearing cherries.
