Risk assessment for delayed sunburn and sunscald

Author: David Rudell, James Mattheis, Carolina Torres

Published: 2020

Summary: Apple peel appearance and chemical changes in response to orchard sun exposure were evaluated to develop solutions that reduce sun-related cold-chain losses. Our results reveal residual impact of sun exposure during the cold chain and potential strategies for reducing losses based on altering fruit surface, and disorder avoidance using non-destructive sorting.
