Summary: The initial objectives of this proposal were to determine sap composition and N requirements for sweet cherry, based on xylem N flux and the use of 15N labelled fertilizer. In 2005 funding was re-targeted to a) the assessment of sap flow gauges in greenhouse and field experiments and b) the effects of intervening in Fall N withdrawal and spring remobilization to determine their contribution to cherry nutrition and production.
